Our Services

What mosquito control services do you offer?
We offer three core services: a Seasonal Siege Program (recurring treatments throughout the summer season), a One-Time Battle Strike (a single targeted treatment, great for events), and a Natural & Essential Oil Package (plant-based treatments with no synthetic pyrethroids). We can also combine approaches based on your property's specific needs.
What is the Seasonal Siege Program?
Our most popular service — a series of recurring treatments scheduled throughout Minnesota's mosquito season, typically May through September. Most customers start with 4 treatments spaced around 4 weeks apart. For properties with higher pressure — lakefront homes, wooded lots, or properties near wetlands — we may recommend additional visits after assessing your yard.
What is a one-time treatment and when should I use it?
A one-time treatment is a single visit where we thoroughly treat your property. It's ideal for homeowners hosting an outdoor event — a graduation party, backyard wedding, or family gathering — who want a bite-free experience for their guests. It's also a great way to try our service before committing to a seasonal program.
What is your Natural & Essential Oil Package?
Our essential oil option uses plant-derived active ingredients — including rosemary oil, peppermint oil, and cedar oil — and contains no synthetic pyrethroids. It's available for customers who specifically request a chemical-free approach. Results can vary, and we'll give you an honest assessment of whether it's a good fit for your property before you book.
What's the difference between a one-time and a seasonal treatment?
A one-time chemical treatment provides targeted relief for at least 4 weeks — perfect for a specific event or trying us out. A seasonal program is a recurring schedule all summer that provides consistent, long-term protection with better value per visit. Many customers start with a one-time treatment and upgrade to seasonal once they see the results.
Can I start with a one-time treatment and switch to seasonal later?
Absolutely. There are no contracts and no pressure. If you start with a one-time visit and decide you want ongoing coverage, we can add you to a seasonal program at any point during the season. We make it easy to adjust.

Treatments & Safety

Are your treatments safe for kids and pets?
Yes. We simply ask that children and pets stay off the treated area until the product has fully dried — once dried, it's safe to resume normal activity. We also offer plant-based and essential oil packages for households that prefer no synthetic chemicals at all.
How long does a treatment last?
Our chemical treatments provide effective protection for at least 4 weeks. Essential oil treatments may vary. Actual duration depends on weather, rainfall, and mosquito pressure specific to your property. Properties near lakes, wetlands, or wooded areas may experience faster re-infestation from surrounding habitat, which is why we tailor our treatment intervals to each property.
Do essential oil treatments actually work?
Results vary. Essential oil treatments are a chemical-free option that some customers find helpful, particularly on lower-pressure properties. They break down faster than synthetic treatments and generally aren't our first recommendation for properties near lakes, wetlands, or with heavy mosquito pressure. We'll always be upfront about what to realistically expect.
Do I need to be home when you treat?
No, you don't need to be home. We just ask that you let us know where we need access to your property. We'll complete the treatment and notify you when we're done.
What areas of my property do you treat?
We focus on the areas where mosquitoes actually rest and breed — the undersides of leaves and shrubs, dense vegetation, shaded areas, fence lines, and eaves. We also identify standing water sources on your property and give you specific recommendations for addressing them. We treat strategically, not just everywhere at once.
Will the treatment harm my garden, flowers, or pollinators?
We apply treatments carefully and target mosquito resting areas rather than open flowering plants where pollinators are active. If you have specific concerns about a vegetable garden or a pollinator garden, let us know before your first visit and we'll factor that into our approach. Our natural essential oil package is also a good option for households with gardens they want to protect.

Minnesota Mosquito Season

When does mosquito season start in Minnesota?
Minnesota mosquito season typically begins in May once temperatures consistently stay above 50°F. The key trigger is a combination of warm temperatures and snowmelt, which creates abundant standing water for breeding. In some years an early warm spring brings mosquitoes out in late April. Starting a seasonal program in early May gives you the strongest protection all summer.
When is mosquito season at its worst in Minnesota?
Peak mosquito activity in Minnesota runs from mid-June through mid-August. During this window, warm temperatures, high humidity, and abundant standing water create ideal breeding conditions. Properties near lakes, rivers, and wetlands — which are extremely common across Chisago, Isanti, and Anoka counties — see the heaviest pressure during this period.
When does mosquito season end in Minnesota?
Mosquito populations begin declining as temperatures consistently drop below 50°F in fall — typically September or October. Mild autumns can extend activity into October. The first hard frost effectively ends the season.
How many treatments do I need per season?
Most seasonal customers start with 4 treatments spaced roughly every 4 weeks from May through September, covering the full peak of Minnesota's mosquito season. Depending on your property — factors like nearby standing water, wooded lots, or wetlands — we may recommend additional visits. We'll assess your yard and give you an honest recommendation.
When is the best time to schedule my first treatment?
Early May is ideal — before peak populations build. Treating early targets the first generation of mosquitoes before they can breed in large numbers, and establishes an active treatment barrier before your outdoor season really begins. That said, it's never too late in the season to start — any reduction in mosquito population improves your outdoor experience.

Standing Water & Prevention

Why is standing water such a big deal for mosquitoes?
Mosquitoes lay their eggs on or near the surface of standing water, and the entire larval stage of their life cycle takes place in water. They can complete a full breeding cycle — from egg to adult mosquito — in as little as 7–10 days during a warm Minnesota summer. Even a container as small as a bottle cap holds enough water to support breeding.
What are the most common standing water problems on Minnesota properties?
The most frequently overlooked sources are: clogged gutters (the single biggest offender), birdbaths that aren't refreshed regularly, tarps and covers that pool water in their folds, flower pots with saucers, children's toys left outside, low-lying lawn areas that hold water after rain, and boats or canoes stored outdoors. A quick walk around your property after a rain reveals most of them.
What should I do about standing water I can't eliminate — like a pond?
For ornamental ponds and water features you can't drain, we recommend mosquito dunks — a biological control product containing Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti) that kills mosquito larvae without harming fish, frogs, or other wildlife. Adding a fountain pump or aerator to keep water moving also helps, since mosquitoes strongly prefer still water for breeding.
Does eliminating standing water replace professional treatment?
Not entirely — but it makes professional treatment significantly more effective and longer-lasting. Standing water reduction cuts down on the breeding habitat available on your specific property, which reduces how quickly new mosquitoes repopulate after each treatment. The two approaches work together and complement each other well.

Service Area

Where are you based and what areas do you serve?
We're based in Chisago City, Minnesota and serve communities throughout Chisago, Isanti, and Anoka counties — including Chisago City, Lindstrom, North Branch, Pine City, Rush City, Forest Lake, Wyoming, St. Francis, Cambridge, Isanti, Taylors Falls, Mora, East Bethel, and more. If you don't see your town listed, reach out and we'll let you know if we can help.
Do you serve my area?
We serve communities throughout Chisago, Isanti, Anoka, and surrounding counties. Don't see your town listed? Call us at (651) 964-4056 and we'll let you know if we can get out to you. We'll always do our best to accommodate.
Do you treat lakefront properties?
Yes — and we have specific experience with them. Lakefront properties face higher mosquito pressure than typical suburban yards because open water provides continuous breeding habitat nearby. We account for faster re-infestation rates on lake properties and tailor our treatment frequency accordingly. Many of our customers in Chisago County are on or near lakes.
Do you serve rural or acreage properties?
Yes. We serve residential properties of all sizes, including larger rural lots. Properties with more acreage, wooded areas, or proximity to wetlands typically see higher mosquito pressure and benefit especially from our seasonal programs. Just give us a call and we'll talk through what makes sense for your specific situation.

Health & Safety

Can mosquitoes transmit diseases in Minnesota?
Yes. The most common mosquito-borne illness in Minnesota is West Nile virus, which is confirmed in the state most years. Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), while rare, is also present and significantly more serious. La Crosse encephalitis is another mosquito-transmitted virus that primarily affects children. Mosquitoes also transmit heartworm to dogs and cats. The risk to any individual from any one bite is low, but the diseases are real and worth taking seriously.
What is West Nile virus and how worried should I be?
West Nile virus is the most common mosquito-borne disease in Minnesota. About 80% of infected people have no symptoms at all. Around 20% experience mild flu-like symptoms. A small percentage — most commonly older adults or immunocompromised individuals — can develop serious neurological illness. There's no vaccine currently available. Reducing mosquito exposure around your home is one of the most practical protective measures available.
How do I protect my pets from mosquitoes?
The most important step is year-round heartworm prevention medication prescribed by your veterinarian — mosquitoes transmit heartworm to dogs and cats and it can be fatal if untreated. Reducing the mosquito population around your property through professional treatment provides an additional layer of protection for pets who spend time outdoors.

Pricing & Booking

How do I get a quote?
The easiest way is to call or text us at (651) 964-4056, or fill out the contact form on our website. We'll ask a few quick questions about your property — size, location, any specific concerns — and put together a recommendation and price for you. There's no obligation and no pressure.
Do you require a contract?
No. We don't require contracts. Seasonal program customers can adjust or stop their service at any time. We'd rather earn your continued business by doing a great job than lock you into something.
How far in advance should I book?
For seasonal programs, earlier is better — booking in April or early May ensures you get on the schedule before peak season. For one-time event treatments, we recommend booking at least a week in advance when possible, though we'll always do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes — always. Contact us at (651) 964-4056 or through our website and we'll put together a free, no-obligation estimate for your property.
